Your role
We are looking for an experienced data engineer to lead the delivery of an innovative ecosystem of tools and services that facilitate the creation of Data Products and automate the capture and generation their design and runtime metadata.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- enhance the framework to automatically capture and generate metadata (e.g using LLMs) about data assets
- register metadata into catalogs for discovery (e.g Collibra, Purview, Datahub) and regulatory compliance
- design and deploy a runtime agent that collects data asset lineage, data quality metrics, telemetry and audit information about the data product
- design and implementation of fine-grained access mechanisms to enable data consumption on a 'need to know' basis.
We work in an agile methodology and create appropriate design artifacts as per our inhouse methodology - Agile@UBS
Your team
You will be part of the Applied AI and ML team, which is a newly established function within Group Emerging Technology. We provide solutions to help the firm embrace Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. We work with the divisions and functions of the firm to provide innovative solutions that integrate with their existing platforms to provide new and enhanced capabilities. One of our current aims is to help a data scientist get a model into production in an accelerated timeframe with the appropriate controls and security. We offer a number of key capabilities: data discovery that uses AI/ML to help users find data and obtain access a secure and controlled manner, an AI Inventory that describes the models that have been built to help users build their own use cases and validate them with Model Risk Management, a containerised lab environment for a user to experiment and produce their models and a streamlined MLOps process that helps them track their experiments and promote their models.
