Hintergrund:

The Customer Segment Molecular Lab within Roche Diagnostics Solutions develops innovative tests based on the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) as well as Sequencing Solutions. The tests developed by this business area for oncology, virology, HPV, microbiology and for screening blood products are used around the world by researchers, doctors, patients, hospitals, laboratories and blood banks. The Chapter PCR Hardware Development within this Customer Segment develops and maintains the instrument hardware and its mechatronic units for the integration into the diagnostic systems. To strengthen our capabilities for the future, we are looking for an experienced electrical engineer.

Tasks & Responsibilities:



• Collaborate in a diverse and interdisciplinary team of electronics, mechanics, optics and software experts participate in defining work packages, their effort estimation, planning and implementation within the development team

• Execute work packages with respect to budget, timeline, scope and quality

• Develop PCBAs, firmware, wirings and cables for diagnostic systems (eCAD, Microcontroller programming) based on technical requirements including design verification and maintenance

• Write or contribute to concepts and specifications, risk management, verification and validation as well as technical investigations.

• Analyze technical problems and elaborate solution proposals

• Support product hand-over from development to production towards launch and beyond

• Co-author relevant documentation based on the development process


 

Must Haves



• Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar (FH/ETH/university)

• Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role in an R&D organization at Roche Diagnostics 

• Deep knowledge in electrical engineering (analog and digital circuits, microcontroller programming) 

• Experienced in ECAD Systems (e.g. Mentor Xpedition) and programming language C. 

• Experienced in Matlab or Python programming 

• Profound understanding of mechatronic systems and typical design trade-offs 

• Collaborative and efficient communicator as well as effective presentation skills

• Proactive problem solver committed to continuous improvement and innovation

• Team- and customer oriented mindset

• Fluent in English, German is a strong asset
