For the Laboratory of Muon Spin Spectroscopy (LMU) we are looking for a
***Scientist in elemental analysis***

**Your tasks**
The availability of an experimental method for depth-resolved elemental analysis is required for a wide range of applications. LMU is developing the Muon-Induced-Xray-Emission (MIXE) technique to provide a bulk, depth-sensitive, and non-destructive elemental analysis method sensitive to basically all the elements.
In this frame, your tasks will be:
• Further development of the MIXE technique and operation of the MIXE Instrument GIANT
• Research in the field of non-destructive elemental analysis
• Scientific and technical support of users of the SS facility
• Publication of scientific results and supervision of students

**Your profile**
• PhD degree in experimental physics
• Strong background in instrumentation, data analysis and simulation of complex experimental setups
• High proficiency in modern programming languages
• Fluent command of written and spoken English
• Used to working in a larger team and good organizational skills
