Job Description:
For our Zurich site, we are looking a well-rounded Test Engineer who will participate in test design and automation. In this position the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing test systems, automation methods, and data management applications for Ultrafast Laser products. You will have an active engagement with the Manufacturing, Process and Optical teams to develop efficient and effective test applications, which will be translated into lower cost.

Responsibilities include:
- Design test and measurement systems related to laser characterization, reliability, quality and manufacturing.
- Ensure robustness, accuracy and repeatability of measurements
- Devise cross-check techniques to monitor and verify measured data
- Plan and perform statistical measurements and data analysis
- Evaluate test data and GR&R results and assess implications for product performance and integrity.
- Identify and devise innovative approaches for measuring key parameters that are currently not measured or difficult to measure
- Document work and report to internal stake holders
- Support manufacturing engineers by performing Failure Analysis for HW/SW.
- Occasional travel to Asia may be required.

Qualifications:

- BS or MS and 3+ years of technical working experience in both test engineering and high-volume manufacturing
- Demonstrate initiatives in executing demanding assignments, working through complex obstacles, and completing projects on time.
- Experience and proficiency with LabVIEW, Python, SQL programming
- Experience with the development of HW fixtures for the purpose of testing complex electrical components
- Knowledgeable in production SPC, GR&R, Cp/Cpk, statistical analysis using JMP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with various types of optical test instrumentation, including optical power meters, photodiodes, spectrometers, optical spectrum analyzers, imaging equipment, and beam quality test equipment.
- Successful development of test methodology and implementation at a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with solving manufacturing problems related to electrical, laser, optical and opto-mechanical systems.
- Good understanding of software design practices: version control, continuous integration, unit testing, etc. is a bonus.
- Teamwork orientation with strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills, as well as commitment to continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English. German is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in Switzerland on a full-time basis.
