Celonic is a *Pure Play* Biologics Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). Celonic’s mission is to help its customers, primarily small to large Biotech Companies, bring life- saving and improving drugs effectively to the market using innovative, *next generation* bioprocessing technologies. Celonic has a state-of-the-art Development and Innovation Center in Basel, Switzerland (headquarters), and clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing facilities

THE POSITION
Reporting to the Vice-President Business and Commercial Development, the Senior Business Development Director will be responsible for the acquisition of Clients requiring outsourced Biologics Development and Manufacturing Services with a primary focus on Small to Large Biotech Customers.
For this position, we are looking for a motivated candidate with excellent technical and communication skills, a self-motivated *hunter* who has a strong network and a track record of delivering business results in the Biologics CDMO space. The candidate must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment while displaying strong team player behaviors and problem-solving skills.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver top-line revenue and bottom-line profit for respective manufacturing assets, products and services, and multi-year deal pipeline in line with the Company’s strategic ambition.
• Acquisition of target number of Clients/Projects for Drug Substance Development, Technical Transfer, and GMP Clinical and Commercial Manufacturing
• Build and leverage a strong client network converting prospects into qualified leads/RFP’s, and maintaining high visibility for the Company at all times for both short-term and long-term opportunities with persistent follow-up.
• Key Commercial Champion to identify and address critical issues and opportunities during Proposal Development, providing solutions that generate value for the customer.
• Lead strategic customer discussions and contract MSA negotiations in alignment with other functions, the Sites, and line Senior management.
• Perform due diligence on clients, new projects and business opportunities, understanding financials for both the customer and the Company.
• Ensure speedy horizontal and vertical communication with a bias for action and speed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 7-10 years of Biologics Drug Substance Sales/BD CDMO experience.
• Strong initiative and drive to deliver business and customer acquisition objectives.
• Demonstrated *hunting* skills resulting in increased conversion win rates.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Technical understanding of Biologics Development and Bio Processing, and cGMP manufacturing requirements sufficient to effectively interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership skills in a multifunctional team setting.
• Ability to work in a less structured, high-growth entrepreneurial environment.
• Ability to work across boundaries, countries and cultures.
• A high-energy individual who can handle multiple priorities/customers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with high learning agility.
• Experience with Intensified and Perfusion Processes a plus.
• Fluency in English language is a must. German is a plus.
