**Assistant Head Upper Secondary**
**100% - Starting August 2025**
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead the academic and operational management of Years 10 and 11, with a focus on the IGCSE programme.
* Develop and oversee the Year 10-11 curriculum, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to ensure consistency and innovation in instructional practices.
* Monitor academic progress through data tracking, baseline testing, target setting, and internal assessment cycles.
* Manage IGCSE exam entries and internal examinations in partnership with the Deputy Head.
* Support the induction and ongoing development of teaching staff.
* Build strong, proactive partnerships with parents and engage them in academic initiatives.
* Facilitate the transition between lower secondary, IGCSE, and DP programmes.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the Secondary School through the Whole School Development Plan.
* Drive innovation and collaboration within the Upper Secondary team to support meaningful, impactful learning experiences.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
* Subject-related degree and a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a senior or middle leadership position within a secondary setting.
* Strong expertise in academic data analysis, curriculum development, and examination administration.
* Familiarity with international education frameworks, including IGCSE and DP transitions.
* Deep understanding of the ethos and pedagogy of an international secondary school.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for community building and collaboration.
* Competency in using digital tools to support academic planning, communication, and data management.
* Commitment to safeguarding and the ability to promote a culture of safety and care across the school.
