This position is anchored into the Nucleic acid-based Medicine (NABM)-Genomic Medicine matrix organization. The position holder will be a member of the newly formed Applied Viral and Non-Viral Technologies (AVANT) team. 

The AVANT team areas of focus encompasses rAAV supply, AAV & capsid engineering, DNA plasmid engineering and overall utilizing knowledge gained from AAV biology to improve AAV potency. Overall, our aim is to contribute to the field of AAV research and further improve gene therapy products. 

## Role Mission ##

We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a senior associate to work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists dedicated to producing new rAAV to supply internal research projects. You will participate in, but not be limited to, the execution of established protocols for production of research grade rAAV vectors, as well as development of improved protocols that pertain to increasing rAAV titer, cell lysis, clarification, column chromatography, gradient centrifugation, vector characterization. Additionally, the individual will be involved in the engineering, screening of new rAAV with improved manufacturability and potency. Additionally, the individual will contribute to the implementation of documentation, scale up, troubleshooting and data analysis in order to support the supply of research-grade rAAV vectors. 

## Your Impact ##

* Perform bench-scale expression, purification and characterization of rAAV according to established protocols to support AAV supply
* Conduct rAAV supplies, purification and process optimization experiments at multiple scales to support AAV supply and improve existing procedures
* Screen, test and characterize newly engineered AAVs, libraries to improve AAV manufacturability and potency
* Contribute to protocols, perform preliminary analyses and prepare internal reports to support scientific conclusions 

* Participate in laboratory management: lab organization, ordering, equipment maintenance and qualification, etc.
* Thoroughly document performed experiments in our electronic laboratory documentation system and present findings in internal events.

## Your Profile ##

You are an enthusiastic associate with a background in biotechnology, biology, bioengineering, biochemistry or a relevant life science field. You bring interest and hands-on lab experience in AAV production, purification & characterization, molecular cloning strategies, NGS library preparation for AAV variant screening. 

You thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment, which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development. You have a keen interest in continuously building a personal network. You are resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner. You have a sense for ensuring that everyone has the required information at all times. You have strong oral and written communication skills and are proficient in working with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.

Your Professional Training and Experience

Scientific studies (Master (FH), alternatively Master (Univ.) or Engineer / Bachelor) with professional experience or scientific vocational training with further training as a technician and three years of specific work experience.

IT-Skills (MS Office, lab software applications), good English skills
