Description

## Your tasks ##

You will contribute to the development of the pixelated Low Gain Avalanche Diode (LGAD) sensors with a thin entrance window optimized for soft X-ray detection. You will test prototypes of the LGAD sensor, analyze data, and collaborate with the sensor foundry to improve the design and process of LGAD sensors through Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) simulations. You will characterize the fabricated sensors with lasers/LEDs and soft X-rays using the readout electronics developed in-house. You will participate to beamtimes to investigate the performance of hybrid detectors using LGAD sensors and perform pilot experiments with end-users. As our group philosophy relies on a strong teamwork, you will be able to get an insight in all aspects of detector development, from the design of the individual components of the detector to the final experiments.

## Your profile ##

* You have a PhD degree in physics, engineering or another subject related to solid state detectors
* You have experience with solid state detectors or silicon sensors, knowledge of TCAD simulation and sensor design tools would be a plus
* Skills in data analysis are required, preferably Python and/or ROOT/C++
* You are highly motivated, can work independently and strive to contribute with new ideas
* You like to collaborate, enjoy teamwork and can clearly communicate in English with people from different backgrounds
