Description

As Head Risk Monitoring & Reporting you will oversee credit and market risk assessment and monitoring, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to manage and mitigate risks effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure compliance with FINMA regulations in terms of credit and market risks, including capital adequacy requirements.
    • Ensure alignment of risk policies
  • Risk assessment
    • Perform risk assessmentsintegrating geopolitical, market, and operational risks.
    • Deliver regular reportsto senior management and the board on risk exposures, compliance gaps, and capital adequacy metrics, emphasizing early warning signals of potential risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Trading and ALM &Treasury departments to calibrate risk appetite in line with strategic objectives.
    • Partner with ALM &Treasuryand Finance departmentsto optimize risk-weighted assets and validate regulatory reporting accuracy under FINMA’s supervisory frameworks.
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Design risk mitigation strategiesthat balance profitability with sustainable business models, particularly in volatile markets.
    • Oversee remediation plansfor non-compliance or control weaknesses identified during audits or internal reviews.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years track record in risk management within the banking sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the Swiss banking regulations and risk management practices (Basel III, FINMA regulatory frameworks…).
  • In-depth knowledge of financial instruments (derivatives, bonds, equities, structured products…)
  • Awareness of market dynamics and macroeconomic factors influencing financial markets.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to challenge and upgrade risk management frameworks and strategies.
  • Effective communication of complex risk concepts to stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, results-oriented, adept at planning and organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams
