**Head of Accounting Opportunity at Innovative Biotech Company**
Our client, a rapidly growing clinical-stage biotech company located near Zurich, Switzerland, is dedicated to advancing innovative therapeutics in the areas of inflammation and immuno-oncology. Known for their cutting-edge antibody discovery and engineering platform, they are involved in both proprietary and collaborative research projects. To further strengthen their Finance team, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Head of Accounting**.
**Your Role:** As the **Head of Accounting**, you will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and take full ownership of all accounting operations. Your key responsibilities will include preparing quarterly and annual financial reports in line with international standards and Swiss regulations, as well as managing the internal control framework. You-ll be instrumental in refining financial processes, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing audit processes. This position also offers the opportunity to lead and expand the accounting team as the company continues to grow.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with international (IFRS) and Swiss regulations.
* Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring smooth and timely audit completions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and enhance the internal control system.
* Oversee compliance with Swiss and international tax laws, working with external tax advisors.
* Drive the ongoing improvement of accounting systems and processes.
* Support the Finance team in preparing financial data for the Board of Directors and related committees.
* Take an active role in mentoring and developing the accounting team.
**What We Are Looking For:**
* A university degree in business administration or a certified public accountant qualification, ideally with a focus on finance.
* At least 3 years of professional experience in a comparable role within the pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences sector.
* Deep knowledge of both Swiss accounting regulations and IFRS standards.
* Familiarity with Swiss tax frameworks, especially VAT regulations.
* A hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a high level of precision.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics.
* Fluency in English and German.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
