About the position – Project Manager, S
2Cities Programme
Our global youth-centred programme Safe and Sound Cities (S2Cities) aims to create safer urban
environments for young people through supporting their participation in urban decision-making
processes and enabling youth-driven innovation. The programme empowers young people aged 15 –
24 years to ideate and implement interventions in their cities to address local safety challenges, in
partnership with public and private sectors and civil society (academia, NGOs, etc.).
To support this global programme, we are looking for a culturally sensitive individual, who has
demonstrated passion for the safety and well-being of youth, sustainable urban development, and
programme management and is committed to GIB’s core values. In this role, you will support
programme management including but not limited to grantee and partner management, strategic
planning, advocacy, event coordination, and fundraising.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Managing relationship with global communications consultant and local implementation
partners, including managing workplans and budgets, reviewing deliverables, coordinating
relationships and providing strategic guidance;
• Planning global events organised and hosted by GIB, including developing agendas and
coordinating logistics;
• Developing and implementing programme scaling strategies, including identifying new funding
sources and preparing proposals; and
• Contributing to overall organisational and programme management, including supporting the
Global Programme Manager and Director.

You meet the following criteria:
At least 2-3 years of experience in impact-focussed programmes, sustainable development, youth
engagement, or similar;
• Experience with public and/or private sector engagement, especially with large corporations
present in the S
2Cities implementation regions; experience with an NGO or youth
empowerment organisation;
• Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., development studies, international
affairs); training or experience in multilateral negotiation;
• Fluency in English; strong command of Spanish (B1 or higher) and/or French (A2 or higher);
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office, experience with reports, requests for proposals, and
budgeting tools;
• Programme management experience, specifically in an intermediary role;
• Experience working or living in low- and middle-income countries (Ghana, Colombia,
Ecuador, Vietnam or the Philippines are an advantage);
• Experience organising delegations at large-scale international multilateral events; and
• Experience in communications management, travel logistics and event planning.
