Our Opportunity:

The Sr. Director, Corporate Development, EMEA will lead the efforts of RBI to expand the Burger King, Tim Hortons, Popeyes and Firehouse Subs brands throughout RBI’s EMEA market through Master Franchise Development Agreements (MFDAs) with new and existing partners, and will be a key driver of realizing RBI’s long-term expansion ambitions. This includes leading a team, sourcing new potential partners, pitching our brands to investors, negotiating agreements, and working closely with internal and external partners to lead deals from origination to final execution. This role will have significant exposure to senior leadership, reporting to Sr. VP Finance & Corporate Development, International and involve building relationships with different functional teams and brand teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Sourcing of outside investors and operators to enter the RBI system as long-term master franchise partners.
Building investment cases and business plans for new market entries.
Overseeing pitch to potential investors, leading a team to move from origination to documentation negotiation.
Leading master franchise development agreement negotiations with potential investors, working closely with internal and external legal counsel.
Cooperating with internal business/legal/tax/accounting teams to aid investor diligence process.
Contributing to RBI Global Development team’s yearly strategic priorities and G&A budget setting.

Required Skills:

7-10 years of professional experience, at least partially in the investment banking, consultancy, and/or M&A execution.
A higher education degree is required. MBA degree will be an asset.
Previous experience in the EMEA market is required.
Strong communication skills — ability to collaborate with all functions across all RBI brands; to build close relationships with investors/operators of any background; to engage with senior RBI leadership.
High level of curiosity – interest in all areas of the business and big trends in the industry.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and conceptual skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset – high level of freedom and responsibility to build International Development business.
Ability to explain financial and investment concepts, build consensus and think creatively.
Ability to influence key decision-makers and break down roadblocks to complex projects.
Fluency in written and spoken English, any additional langue will be considered as an asset.
Previous experience in franchising and/or Quick Service Restaurant industry will be an asset.
